Grateful Crane to Receive Community Service Award at the 71st Annual Nisei Week Japanese Festival

Grateful Crane was named a Nisei Week Community Service Honoree earlier this Summer by the Nisei Week Foundation.

The mission of Nisei Week, now in its 71st year, is to promote Japanese and Japanese American heritage and traditions, while bringing together the diverse communities of Southern California through arts and cultural education.

Grateful Crane will be among three other organizations being honored for their service to the community. As part of the recognition, members of Grateful Crane will be featured in the annual Nisei Week Parade on Sunday, August 14, 2011 through the streets of Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo. Community Service honorees will also be recognized at an Awards Dinner on Monday, August 15 at the Kyoto Grand Hotel in Little Tokyo.
